Sorry, technical difficulties made this a tad late today:

Joe Lally | Edie Sedgwick | Tre Orsi (Rubber Gloves)
Would you say "Joe Lally of Fugazi," or "Joe Lally, formerly of Fugazi?" I was never clear whether the band actually broke up for good, or are just taking the longest break ever. It would be nice to get one more album out of those guys, wouldn't it? I really dug Ian's performance with the Evens at Public Trust a couple months back, but man, it just isn't a substitute for Fugazi.

Erykah Badu | Q-Tip | 9th Wonder (Ghostbar)
I know I know, but it's QTip. Despite the fact that places like Ghostbar thoroughly depress me (can't rich assholes in Dallas at least be evil enough to be funny or something?), I thought you should know at least.

Taxi Fare (Zubar)

It's What We Get (Hailey's)

The Scoop (Fallout)

Hmm. Well I thought the set was good. I guess I can see why it was 8 dollars. But its fucking joe lally from FUGAZI so... Im really sad about not dancing to Edie Sedwick because I thought he did an awesome job. You could tell that people weren't really feeling it. Yeah I was the only black chick there. I expected it...Everywhere.

i didnt think he sounded condescending, just kinda awkward.
that drummer was one of the best drummers ive seen in a long time.
i thought it was alright but 30 minutes was enough for me.
i could watch fugazi play all day but a 80 minute joe lally set. no thanks.

the joe lally stuff was ok. and that sucks that it was just ok. his drummer was outstanding, best i've seen in a very long time but the songs seemed kinda stale and he came across as condecending to the audience (what little there was). vocally he seemed to sound like everything else coming out of D.C. right now. Which is dissapointing considering his role in punk economics.

come on, we gotta give it up, sheople. not unlike obamarama, wanz is an borderline generic arsehole who must be licked incessantly until a realisation of dreamy, half-baked idea's are, in fact realised for the benefit of every young thing in the d/fw universe who could'nt possibly think for themselves comes into being.............................................................

No Q-Tip at Ghostbar tonight. Talib Kweli and Biz Markee, instead.
