Aside from Cool Out at the Cavern and Jazz at the Amsterdam, Rubber Gloves will be hosting a listening party for Boris' Dronevil, an hour long album released on 4 vinyl sides that is intended to be heard via two synced stereos playing both records at the same time. Although I can't say for sure because I haven't heard either of these records myself, one of them apparently leans more towards Boris' heavy stoner rock side, while the other brings the drone to the forefront. Listening parties for CDs often strike me as kind of dumb, but this is exactly the kind of album that listening parties were made for: rare, expensive imports that require more than one stereo to be heard properly. Rubber Gloves promises to turn shit up, and I bet any Boris fan would enjoy stopping by to hear what it sounds like on a relatively large sound system. It's free, and you can read more about the album here.

Went up to rubber gloves for the Boris listening and walk into an empty bar with three hipsters sitting in a corner bobbing along to the Pixies and drinking beer. Uh, WTF? Thanks again Rubber Gloves for nothing. Knew this was too cool for Denton to ACTUALLY FUCKING HAPPEN.

didn't mean that to sound like a "cooler than thou" comment on your lateness or whatever. just a random comment on one of my favorite records by them.

yeah, I realize the record isn't new, but from what I understand, it's kind of hard to find and a bit expensive if you do.

records been out for some time. few years even. and its one of their best. thick, heavy, no vocals, and some of Wata's best solos. glad people have finally caught up to this band
