WE SHOT JR

it list : monday

So there is an early show at Good Records this evening featuring Port O'Brien, The Physics of Meaning and the Tah Dahs... these things usually have free beer, and it starts at 6.

Also, URB magazine will apparently be hanging out at Cool Out tonight, meaning that those people who always look like they're posing for pictures will really be posing for pictures all night. But don't let that freak you out-- Cool Out has an atmosphere that takes after its namesake: cooled out.

You've also got Bernard Wright at Gezelling and Bad Ass Jazz at New Amsterdam if you're into that.

6:10 you have added nothing to this debate, and if you look "thier" is also spelled "their" in the same comment. Dyslexia is no laughing matter. Stonedranger, i hope youre not including me in the we were all so confused in 05. Speak for yourself.

6:39,
learn how to spell "their" please.
Retard.

Theres no "letting" anyone talk. Get over yourself.

yes that is the whole point of this blog, but you aren't me, and therefore you don't get to make that point.

If you score at least a 70% on the upcoming WSJR Taste Test, then I'll let you talk. Thanks.

I agree with 7:40 agreeing with 6:39. 6:59 is also correct and it seems like 6:18 and 6:39 both hit a nerve with 7:00.

Sorry, 6:39 is spot on.

stonedranger, isnt the point of this whole goddamn blog site telling people how to listen to music, since you have better taste than everyone else?

stonedranger says..1:00 AM

wow, looks like 618 and 639 have figured out every fucking thing in the world. Good work guys.

1. I like Pere Ubu better than Rocket from the Tombs too. And since I am a wanna be hipster blogger, does that make you simply a wanna be hipster comment poster? Thats pretty rad.

2. 639-- can you tell us how to listen to music better? I've been trying really hard but I can't seem to get the hang of it.

It seems like this blog is full of opinions of people who are barely out of their teens, who know nothing of taking in good music for what its worth regardless of the time period it was released in, but who hear a song or two of a hyped up band they downloaded,or who listen to an album they ripped off online once and have invested nothing in the music they listen to, therefore thier opinions mean nothing to me, good or bad.
I mean, so many of the bands who are hyped up on this site are just so mediocre. Typing and computer skills do not equal good taste. Blah.

The self titled jehu album is much more than ok, rocket from the tombs was ok, a reference point for wannabe hipster bloggers, pere ubu was waaaay better.

Anonymous says..9:08 PM

or let's just confuse everyone and start talking about Rocket From the Tombs.

Alex says..8:15 PM

people seem to like DLJ more, I haven't heard too much of it, but what I heard I liked. Perhaps I should umm... get down with it?

No one said anything about Rocket from the Crypt, Drive like Jehu and Hot Snakes are the superior bands in that trio of John Reis bands.
