From a recent interview with Tiny Mix Tapes when front-man Sam Sitkoff was asked which of his favorite albums represented a cohesive statement:

TMT:What are some of the albums you think fall into that category?

Sitkoff: SMiLE by Brian Wilson is one of the main ones for me. Yellow House by Grizzly Bear. Pretty much everything Sufjan Stevens does. Animal Collective is probably the band that most consistently impresses me in that way. And of course In the Aeroplane Over the Sea."

Does anyone else find it weird that Yellow House is included like it's some timelessly classic and hugely seminal work, not to mention the fact that most of his answers were very contemporary and popular artists? That record was a big deal when it came out, and maybe it will eventually come out in a deluxe edition with seven extra discs worth of demos, but it might be a little early to tell. At different points in history, people considered Source Tags And Codes, Is This It?, The Shape Of Punk To Come, and August And Everything After to be really important records too, but I don't know if they're aging as well as some thought they would. Anyways, I'll give this guy credit for being so upfront about his influences, since a lot of bands will tell you how they're influenced by Blind Willie McTell and Guru Guru when their music sounds exactly like Coldplay, but Le Loup is definitely more similar to Animal Collective than anything else mentioned. So again, points for being honest.
