AFI Film Festival: Welcome To The Terrordome: Public Enemy (Angelika Film Center)

Looking to be sweepingly comprehensive in scope, this documentary attempts to examine the legacy and impact of Public Enemy's music, from their 80's heyday to where they are now. Featuring interviews with everyone from Talib Kweli to the ubiquitous opinions of Henry Rollins, and the group itself. Which should be great considering the contrast of one of the most fascinating duos in all of popular music. Aside from the obviously important cultural and musical influence of Public Enemy is the fact that they still sound amazing pumped out of a bar's house speakers, due in large part to immortal lines such as "Motherfuck him and John Wayne."

There will be an after party at Ghostbar, featuring members of Public Enemy.

Disqo Disco (Fallout Lounge)
Keith P and Schwa will join the regular Disqo Disco DJs this evening, and DD will be handing out copies of a new mix tape to those who get there early enough for them. For those who haven't been yet, the Disqo Disco crew typically spins an eclectic mix featuring a healthy dose of the latest blog approved tech and disco tracks along with the usual mix of pop hits and old school stuff. Nice crowds lately as well.

I'm siked about see STUCK at AFI tonight:

Re-Animator writer-director Stuart Gordon gives us the story of a nurse who hits a homeless man and leaves him to die while lodged in her windshield. Stuck takes its inspiration from a true story in which a nurse near Fort Worth struck a homeless man and fled the scene with the body. Gordon’s wicked hand has twisted the story into a thriller with a Hitchcockian flare.

I'm torn between Felix Hernandez and Professor Griff.

I guess we all Pawns in the Game.

that's a terrible idea.

stay home and watch the rangers at 9ish on Fox Sports Southwest.
