We're happy to present the second edition of Keith P's ongoing mix series, Bass Music Vol. 2. The first installment saw Keith jump way ahead of the curve locally with an impressive mix of fidget, old school house, distorted French acid disco, and just about everything else that was receiving critical praise and underground buzz at the time. The best part? Aside from the choice track selection, the mix demonstrated that Keith is the real deal: a truly skilled DJ who knows how to control a dance floor with precision.

Bass Music Vol. 2 is quite different from its predecessor in both track selection and vibe, but its just as enjoyable, and in many ways, probably even more interesting. On this mix, Keith shifts his focus back to his musical roots, with grime, UK garage, and dubstep front and center. Great tracks from Wiley, Arman Van Helden, Switch and Drop the Lime all stand out, but to be honest, I had never heard most of these tracks before, and the surprises were what really grabbed me the first time I listened to this mix (the exclusive Starkey track in particular stands out). The whole affair is dark and filthy all the way through, but the balance between interesting, experimental electronic sounds and four on the floor dance accessibility is what makes this mix great. Basically, this is a party mix that also happens to be great on headphones at home. Click here for the tracklist, and click below for the download. Enjoy!

big love to keith.

so impressed with keith p's mix.
brilliant combination of sounds and styles, all while staying true to those dirty low frequencies.

bravo, thanks for sharing.

I look forward to having archives again too

Cool, I look forward to it.

we're working on that, and you should see a list of all the mixes we've posted very soon. Thanks.

enjoying the download. Is there a page to get some of the past WSJR downloads/mixes?

god, let that hole die already

It has a lot to do with some things. Others not so much.
For instance, if you mean "anything" to mean pancakes and armor piercing bullets and Teletubbies - Then nothing.
But if you mean "anything" to mean Dallas and past and future art scenes and historical neighborhoods in a city struggling to find a creative identity - Then a lot.

what the fuck does that have to do with anything?

I found all of this pretty intersting:
