From North Texas art event aggregation master weekly: Have the weekend nicely.

THURSDAY, March 4, 2010

Corey Godfrey
Magnolia Gallery
3699 McKinney Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204
Reception 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Ms. Godfrey: "My work aims to represent the power of eroticism, pulling it from the bedroom or publication and placing it in the midst of the human gaze."

FRIDAY, March 5, 2010

Barometer
John Adelman
Upper Gallery at the University of Dallas
1845 East Northgate Drive, Irving, TX 75062
Reception 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Glasstire: "John Adelman's complex and ethereal drawings spawn from a method using rules of an equation created by the artist. Layers of tiny obsessive lines are drawn with ink and incorporate text and handwritten dictionary definitions. Adelman's new work explores negative space using shaped paper and heightened colors."

SATURDAY, March 6, 2010

Sonogram Drawings
Andrew DeCaen
Norwood Flynn Gallery
3318 Shorecrest Drive, Dallas, TX 75235
6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

My brother-in-law's wife is having a baby. They just found out it's a boy today. Via sonogram. And that's the main reason I included this one.

Drawings
Steven Hopwood-Lewis
The Public Trust
2919-C Commerce St., Dallas, TX 75226
Reception 6 - 9PM

Mr Hopwood-Lewis is a North Texas great! He sure needs a decent web site or gallery -- I can't find anything representative of the stuff of his I like, even with Google images. And his blog seems to be no longer active.
