didn't the dr. dog album come out in '05? what i've heard of the newsom album is pretty good. at least the production uses a lot of great open space with subtle room reverb. i love how the strings fade in on the first track.
i know someone knocked the voxtrot record, but i thought it was a great twee album.i still thought the band that the rhythm section was in prior, Belaire, was the better of the two. very stereolabish pop, but the songs were much more complete. plus they had those incredible harmonies.

Benoit BlahBlah is some of the most mediocre shit i've heard in a long while. I really don't understand this one. I've seen hype over some mediocre shit (vox trot) but this escapes me.

Newsom is hot, and that John Fahey album is really good, table of elements is one of the best labels around.
