I wouldn't say not to go to the Decemberists show. If you like the band then go. I haven't seen them yet myself.
I'm more intrigued about tonite's Broken Social Scene show. This is probably the last time you will see them as a 17 member band, maybe the last time ever if you believe the rumors. Looks like everyone will be present except Feist. I would like to go but I saw them twice last year aorund this time so I may skip it. When I saw them in minneapolis, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. |

Crap! I was going to the Decemberists tomorrow at Gypsy---should I not? Will I be bored? Tired of whiny indie boys. Need something rockin' and innovative. Suggestions? Who's going to be in town soon who fits that bill? |

I don't like that Decemberists at all... to proggy, too overwrought... they bore me now. Haven't checked the Califone out yet, but I will be soon... a friend recommended it to me as well.
I have been liking that Beach House quite a bit, Grizzly Bear, 120 Days, Fujiya & Miyagi, and Tussle. A few other things I sampled recently that I liked at early first glimpse is Christopher Willits and Clark.
May have to check out the Squarepusher... but I never much liked the drill and bass stuff he did. |

you're right, last album was In Case We Die about 1 year ago, but I heard some new stuff when I saw them live recently, so I figured they'd released a new one or were a bout to.... something's brewing with them... opening for Clap Your Hands all over recently! Speaking of brewing, I can't wait for Bjork's new hip-hop album with Timbaland! |

Do Architect have a new one? I have their last two albums from the past few years but didn't know they released an album lately. |

Squarepusher is really good if you like minimal German techno stuff... I also really like the new Califone. I think its the best one yet. |

I still say Red Monroe, glad to see they've been on the list this long!!! Do you have their new one? Check it, hasn't left my disc changer (yes, I still have actual CDs, the IPod hasn't won me yet). I say Architecture in Helsinki SHOULD be on the list or at least on someone's radar, though their album doesn't do their live act justice. I am tired of Badly Drawn Boy, I feel like I'm in High School again just typing the name. I wish no ill, I just wish some other major players would emerge. Am I lame cuz I don't recognize Shiny Toy Guns? Should I? |
