1. Chief Death Rage | Bark Bark Bark | Eat Avery's Bones (J&Js- Denton)
Everyone that reads this blog knows what we thing of the the first and last bands on this list, so we won't go over that again. We'll just say J&Js knows what they are doing as far as booking goes. Bark Bark Bark are a Phoenix electo band that reminds us of Les Georges Leningrad, a baltimore junk version of !!! and a little Spank Rock, which all equals drunk dancing after a couple JJs pints. Should be good. 2. DJ G 80's House Night (Cavern downstairs)
Oh yeah, stuff still happens in Dallas sometimes too... like great dance nights that most people choose to ignore. Fuck, theres gotta be enough cool kids in Dallas without jobs to make this a well populated event every week, doesn't there? Maybe not. You should give it a try: its Italo, chicago house, etc. No "Take on Me" to be heard. 3. The Party w/ DJ Nature (Rubber Gloves- Denton): I've had more people email me thanking us for introducing them to DJ Nature than any other band/musician we've ever talked about on here. 4. The creeping and dark yet strangely soothing A Childlike Fear from Ft. Worth will be opening for Fishboy and Ryan Anderson tonight at the Metrognome Collective. Great acoustic folk with minimal, ambient soundscapes serving as a backdrop to unique, slightly offkey vocal harmonies that don't sound like much else in the DF to da dub right now. Its emotional stuff without being cheap or crybaby. How many bands around here pull that shit off? Listen for yourself. |

that's one fucked up family. you might want to put those "shows" deep in some closet somewhere, with the rest of your revolting fantasies. |

Im going to defen anon 6:30am here.. He is obviously a hardworking and dedicated guy - not to mention an early bird, for being up on the blog at 6:30am, when most of you punk ass sns of bitches were just getting in from a night of drinking lone star beer under a cardboard box watching the "horseassclownpenises" play their brand of techno-garage-ka. So.. bravo anon 6:30am .. for being up very early. |

Do we know if the "gofuckme's" are playing this weekend? You'd think with such exciting bills this weekend that they would be playing somewhere.. Last week, they played in my 5 year old brother's room, using a makeshift PA constructed from wo tin cans and an old washing machine. It was badass. Instead of instruments, they played with boxes of cereal and used my little brother's ass as a drum kit. For the 3 of us there (my mom, dad and cousin Jacob) it was the most exciting shit I've seen in months. Stoned Ranger, why didn't you cover that? I thought this lame ass blog would be all over such DIY. |

Well, they are the best kind of crappy shows. Like, high school bands playing for their friends nad parents. Exciting and new. Sloppy, immature, generic a lot of times, but the real kind of small town VFW Hall type thing. No pretense, no worries, no blogs, no critics, no merch, no cover... Just kids playing music. Hard to be cynical about it... |

yeah... I never hear about the crappy shows there. |

I'm pretty sure nobody books J&J's. They just let you come in and pick a date. For every good show, there's 3 pretty bad shows.
Which is pretty awesome for a young band trying to start playing out. I love that place. |
