1. Something School Hip Hop Night (Slip Inn) I'm tellin' you, its fun.... and the crowds have been really big the past couple of weeks, which according to one of the regulars is something that hasn't been happening there in quite a while. Until recently. Great DJs, nice people, and a good time. You'll hear mostly late 80s to mid 90's stuff here, which everyone knows was the golden age of hip hop anyway.
2. Mile End w/ Dj Laureen (Fallout Lounge) Laureen made the cover of Quick today, which means that you'll probably see a nice sized crowd over there tonight, in addition to the good tunes that you always get at Fallout on Thursdays. You can do this AND the Slip Inn tonight. Truss it.
3. 80's Night (Hailey's) The best 80's night you can possibly go to in DFWd to hear rare 80's electro. |

Sebastian can't cut his hair any shorter. If he did he would have no hair. If "Let's evolve with it." means throwing words around like "electro" and thinking we're oh so forward thinking 'cause we dress like we're in the 80's as opposed to the 70's, etc..... then I don't wanna "evolve with it" |

Y'ALL need to check out my new band "global gospel choir".
...we'll be playing in my head untill i, you know, find some bandmates |
| | |
| jacob says.. |
| | |
nobody is right, we just all have opinions and I thank the global gospel choir for bringing this to my attention
beer me |
| | |
| creatorlars says.. |
| | |
I know. You're right.
Like I said, I just really wanted to say gospel and global in the same sentence. |
| | |
| jacob says.. |
| | |
wow that makes so much sense now, I hate all of you. i kid, i kid.
funny sebastian about simmons and nugent.
i just really meant the dfw/denton thing... i know musicians can't get along, just take a look at lennon/mccartney, jagger/richards, etc... and they were in the same band. |
| | |
| creatorlars says.. |
| | |
Thanks! She was wanting some heavier shit to listen to that night. She listens mainly to Slayer, Devourment and Necrophagist. But she's still in that stage where she rocks out to every band just to show support anyway. :)
Need to buy that kid some fuckin' earplugs. |

That we do.... and when yer not in dallas we drive to denton...... we love conflict THAT much.
oh, and since i know your reading... your little girl is ADORABLE, larz. quite a little sense of rhythm she's got. |
| | |
| creatorlars says.. |
| | |
And, shit... if your math is right, each one of those ten people must pretend to like it enough to bring at least ten to twenty friends with them every time we play in town. And that's assuming that all ten live in DFW and show up to every fucking show! |
| | |
| creatorlars says.. |
| | |
Adding that to our press bio.
"...ten people pretend to like The Undoing of David Wright, and everyone else thinks they're fucking unlistenable. Those 10 just love the conflict." - anonymous post at WeShotJR.com
Hope you don't mind I corrected your grammar? |

| sebastian says.. |

Good, I love it when you hate it.
Dont hate me because I am beautiful. |

Sebastian, You are the reason real talent national bands will go to New Orleans or Houston 9/10 times and not stop in Dallas. You just refered to two of the most outdated, classic, and boring icons of rock. Keep up the good work -- that was sarcastic.
But seriously cut your hair, get a job and for God's sake turn down "Stairway to Heaven" and other 92.5 trash. The scene isn't the same as when Led Zepp played the Bronco Bowl. Let's evolve with it. |
| | |

creator lars is right. it's the same reason why 10 people pretend to like the undoing of david wright, and everyone else thinks they're fucking unlistenable. those 10 just love the conflict. |
| | |
| sebastian says.. |
| | |
That's why Gene Simmons bass was in the shape of a battle axe. It is also why the album art of Ted Nugent's Weekend Warriors depicts Ted Nugent with an electric guitar that shoots bullets. |
| | |
| creatorlars says.. |
| | |
Rock and roll is all about conflict. Musicians aren't ever gonna get along. That's why there are bands instead of some global gospel choir.
Eh. Nevermind. I just really wanted to say global and gospel in the same sentence. |

| jacob says.. |

anon #4 . . . can't we all just get along?
music is meant to bring people together not start a prick waving contest. |

that sounds exactly like a show i went to called bitter dallasistes grieve over lack of scene. it was a really weird show. two guys got shot and dentonites weren't allowed in. from the doorway i think i saw a horrible metal band setting up onstage. or maybe it was radio rock. you know, on second thought, it could have been power pop. no, wait. it was just a horrible sucking sound, lack of coordination and lack of endearment towards anyone but themselves. must have been republicans. |

The real show to not miss tonight is up in Denton. It's a new experimental band that's playing tonight in a dumpster behind the Hastings Bookstore, and you have to wear eye goggles because they mix shit in beakers and set their farts on fire. This is their first show. It'll be improv. They don't play instruments or have films playing. The music is actually a mindset you have to put yourself in. It's so insane you'll have no choice but to plug it for weeks in your Dallas Observer column or on your wack blog. |
