1. Lost Generation w/DJ Mwanza (Cavern)
So DJ nights are sometimes a fun thing, but more often than not they aren't that great because a lot of people don't show up, especially when its on a weekday. However, we saw a poster for this DJ night that promised New Order, Sonic Youth, Silver fucking Apples (where else will you hear them in Dallas, I might ask) and My Bloody Valentine. Sounds pretty good to us, even if there aren't a lot of attractive scenesters around. And who knows, maybe there will be...

Mwanza is deffinately a DJ worth going to. i went there once w/ my buddy just to chill on the couches (gotta love the couches) and his set was a blast. stuff i knew and loved, stuff i didn't know i loved, and a lot in between. He seems to be fairly reserved in person but i can tell that he deffinately cares about music and having something to do w/ it. It's deffinately a blast and he's worth a lot more attention than he seems to get a lot of the time.

I just wanted to let you guys know, that I welcome you to come out Friday's at UP!. My name is CJMacPhie. I have been DJ'ing at the Cavern for a year now. I have been playing what Lost Generation has, and-some and-some every Friday and even the stuff DJ think they are too good to play.. I used to be on Saturdays but gave it up so I could work with my band. I do not bitch or complain about the music scene except merely try and support it and do the best I possibly can to make sure people are informed about new music, and many things from the 80's that people forgot about. Im just saying... I will play that New Order for you, in fact I introduced Jet Stream, to the Cavern for the first time which is a brand new New Order song and I will play Joy Division back to back if need be. Yes the old stuff rules but it doesn't hurt to show people the band is still writing good stuff. But I have been working hard, to promote and finally I have a regular great crowd who show up every Friday. I welcome you to come and enjoy and have a good time with us. When I stared up last January I wanted to give people the opportunity to hear music they haven't heard or maybe forgotten about over the years, and I did just that. I just think it's crappy cause I have been doing this with a smile on my face for one year and have had pretty much no strings attached to what I do at The Cavern? Why because I never called in whining that I was sick, or was playing stuff people didn't get. (The Owner) realized this and has given me the freedom to do things like this. Maybe I am rambling and maybe no one really cares unless, someone is saying things to stir up the critics. I just want help, and know people really do care about the people in the scene, because I have been a key player and hell-bent on changing it. Not complaining about it... People want shit done or to change but it’s seem no one is willing to move out of the box to do it…

I just wanted to say thanks for being honest with your blogs, and true.

Keep up the good work!
